SCOPE OF WORK
The Graphic Designer at The Sparkle Foundation Malawi will play a pivotal role in crafting visually compelling content that enhances the organization's mission of transforming lives through education, healthcare, and community development. The position involves creating a wide array of graphics for both digital and print media, including social media visuals, newsletters, brochures, and event materials. The designer will ensure brand consistency across all platforms, aligning with The Sparkle Foundation’s established guidelines.
The role requires close collaboration with the marketing and communications team to develop designs that effectively communicate project goals and campaign messages. Responsibilities include designing engaging visuals for our website and social media channels, supporting event promotions, and overseeing the print production process. The designer will also contribute creative ideas, stay abreast of design trends, and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key aspects of the job include receiving and integrating feedback, managing a library of design assets, and providing regular progress updates. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least two years of experience, or a diploma with a minimum of three years of experience. They should possess strong technical skills in graphic design software, creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment. Additionally, a self-motivated approach and the ability to adapt to evolving design needs are essential for success in this role.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Develop engaging and visually appealing graphics for various mediums including print, digital, and social media to support our campaigns and projects.
- Ensure that all graphic designs align with The Sparkle Foundation's brand guidelines and maintain consistency across all platforms.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to create graphics for newsletters, brochures, flyers, and annual reports.
- Design eye-catching visuals for social media platforms to enhance our online presence and engagement.
- Create and update graphics for the organization’s website, ensuring that content is visually engaging and aligns with current campaigns.
- Design materials for fundraising events, community outreach, and workshops including banners, invitations, and promotional items.
- Revise designs based on feedback from team members, stakeholders, and donors to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Provide creative input and innovative ideas to improve the visual impact of our campaigns and initiatives.
- Support with basic photo and video editing to enhance visual content where required.
- Stay updated on design trends and industry best practices to keep the organization’s materials fresh and engaging.
- Organize and maintain a library of design assets, including images, fonts, and templates, for easy access and reuse.
- Provide regular updates on design progress and project status to the team and management.
educational and professional qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Diploma in Journalism, Marketing, Communications or a related field and minimum of 3 years in a related role.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing and communications strategies.
